For many years, Michelin tires have been synonymous with quality and reliability in the world of tires. Headquartered in Clermont-Ferrand, France, Michelin is one of the largest tire manufacturers in the world. The beginnings of the company date back to 1888, when the brothers Eduard and Andre Michelin turned the workshop where bicycle tires were repaired into a factory. After 3 years, they patented the first replaceable bicycle tire, and in 1895 they constructed and drove the first car with inflatable tires. In 1906, Michelin built the first factory in the Italian city of Turin.
From the beginning until today, it has achieved incredible success: Michelin has more than eighty factories worldwide, and covers over 20 percent of the world and 40 percent of the European tire market. It is known for a large number of designs for passenger, jeep and van vehicles.
Michelin is a leader in all tire and related services markets. By constantly proving its technological leadership, constant innovation and high quality products and services, through its strong brands, Michelin can follow its global development strategy and improve performance in all aspects of its business.
In our market, Michelin is especially famous because in 2005 it bought the Tigar tire factory in Pirot.
